Ed Reed's Status Up in the Air

Ed Reed out until Week 7?

Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl safety Ed Reed probably won't be playing in the team's opener, but won't go as far as verifying reports that he'll be placed on the PUP list.

Reed finished last year with 50 tackles, three picks, and three forced fumbles despite missing four games in Decemeber. He had the labrum in his hip replaced in the offseason.

Recent reports erroneous

The Associated Press reported Wednesday that Reed said he'd be out until at least Week 7 (after he would be eligible to come of the PUP list), but Reed and Co. deny those claims.

"We have no idea when he's ready to return," Brad Davis, Reed's personal advisor, told reporters. "Anyone who is saying he will miss six weeks, that's just not true. We don't know at this point.

"He could be back before or after. We just don't know. It's too soon to say. He could be back Week 1 or he could miss the entire season. I seriously doubt he would miss the entire year, but the reality is it's all still up in the air right now."
